Not all to-do lists are created equal! We recognize the various needs and preferences of our clients and create a custom service plan to guide us in matching with you with one of our dedicated Michigan Assistants.

Service Options

We offer different service options to best fit your needs:


    1. Required to guarantee the same assistant(s) for your requested services; assistants typically work on a predetermined schedule
    2. Best for those with recurring, ongoing service needs or clients who prefer to limit services to the same assistant(s).
    3. You choose the terms—pick between placement-only or all-in services; hiring fee applies towards recruiting costs
    • PLACEMENT-ONLY: You will employ and manage your assistant at your discretion.
    • ALL-IN: Your assistant is a W-2 employee of Michigan Assistants. We handle all employer-related responsibilities under one, simple hourly rate including: recruiting, screening, taxes, hiring & onboarding, insurances, and ongoing management.
      Non-compete applies.


  • Recommended if you need one-time services or prefer to schedule as-needed
  • Ideal for relocation services and urgent or same-day service requests
  • No commitment, simply pay hourly rate
  • ALL-IN service only: assistants are employees of Michigan Assistants. Non-compete applies.


  • Best for those that prefer to leave the matching expertise to Michigan Assistants—having the right assistant is higher priority than having the same assistant but also need regularly scheduled services (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)

  • Commitment to agreed-upon schedule at hourly rate

  • ALL-IN service only: assistants are employees of Michigan Assistants. Non-compete applies.

We provide you with a custom quote based on your unique needs before initiating services—no surprise costs or fees.


  • Services are provided under an hourly rate. Billing by the hour (and not task) provides the most value to our clients because our team of Michigan Assistants can typically accomplish multiple tasks in an hour.
  • Fees are calculated in 30-minute increments.
  • Hourly rates DO include up to 20 miles for service-related travel time. Additional miles are billed at the current IRS mileage reimbursement rate.
  • Hourly rate does NOT include costs of items purchased or other expenses incurred to complete services such as groceries, parking fee, costs associated with third-party vendor (e.g. dry cleaning bill), etc.
  • Please note that rates are quoted based on your service requests and any tasks or services that are added on afterwards without approval could result in an increased hourly rate or additional fees.


Premium rates may apply for extended hours, weekend or after-hours, holidays, and urgent or same-day requests and is based on availability.


For purchases we make on your behalf, prepayment is required up front. We will provide a detailed statement with receipts to document how funds were spent and will invoice for any overages for reimbursement. Overpayments are credited to your acccount.


If your needs change, we ask that you notify us immediately. A cancellation fee applies if required notice (see below) is not given or if Michigan Assistants is unable to gain access to a client’s residence or place of service. Please note that a lot of time and efforts are spent behind-the-scenes securing a Michigan Assistant to complete your requested services, some of which require commute times and travel. Together, management and assistants reserve our time to dedicate our full attention to completing your service requests and very much appreciate the heads up if your plans have changed.

  • Within 25-mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI: requires 24-hour notice to cancel; cancellation fee $40
  • Outside 25-mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI: requires 72-hour notice to cancel; cancellation fee $75
